About Reconzy
Reconzy is a set of worksheets for the owner of a United States small business deciding whether to outsource the bookkeeping. You type in your own transaction counts, accounts, invoices and bills, and each sheet shows the arithmetic that turns those figures into a monthly scope, a fee at a quoted rate, or a comparison with an employed bookkeeper. The sheets are free and need no account. A paid plan keeps each quote and scope you compare.
Why this site exists
This site exists because the arithmetic behind a bookkeeping quote is not difficult but is never shown: a proposal names a package and a price, and the owner has no way to see what hours that price implies or whether the scope matches the business. Somebody signing an engagement needs to see how the figure was reached, because they are the one paying it every month.
Who it is for
Owners and office managers of US small businesses deciding who keeps the books: founders doing them at the weekend, practices with a shoebox of receipts, trades and online stores whose accountant wants cleaner records.
Not bookkeepers or controllers running a close, not bookkeeping practices looking for clients, not anyone running payroll, filing taxes or choosing accounting software.
What it does not do
- We keep nobody's books and we sell no bookkeeping service. We do not refer you to a bookkeeper, no bookkeeper pays us, and no ranking of firms appears on this site.
- We give no accounting or tax advice and we take no fee for sending you to anyone who does. Where a question needs an accountant we say so and stop.
What is on this site
3 free tools, each working its figure on the page with no account, and Reconzy Pro that keeps the record. All tools · Pricing.
What Reconzy Pro keeps
Pro keeps every quote and scope you have compared, so when the fee changes next year you can see what it was priced against.
Who answers for it
Joe Ellul, Director, Ellul Solutions Ltd, who answers for what this site publishes.
